A small eco-lodge and spa beside Masaya Volcano National Park

Hotel Darío is a boutique hotel on Calle La Calzada in Granada, about 100 meters from the central park and the cathedral. It occupies a neoclassical house from the early 1900s with a central courtyard and a pool courtyard. It has the restaurant El Tranvía and the Chocolate Coffee café. A private transfer from Managua airport can be arranged.
Hotel Darío stands on Calle La Calzada in Granada, a hundred meters from the central park and the cathedral. The building began as a private home, the mansion of Angélica Balladares, and the city lists it as a heritage site. A family of Spanish origin, the Velilla García, bought it in 2005, restored it and reopened it in 2007, naming it for the Nicaraguan poet Rubén Darío.
The plan follows the old Granada house. A central courtyard has a covered corridor along one side, and a second courtyard, added later, holds the pool and is ringed by newer rooms. The street front has five entrances, balustraded balconies and a cornice. Room types run from single and double to triple, quadruple, balcony rooms, a junior suite and a suite. Wi-Fi, cable TV, a minibar, room service and laundry are part of the service.
Meals happen in two places. El Tranvía serves daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in a garden courtyard with a fountain, with Nicaraguan beef, Pacific seafood and paella on the menu. Chocolate Coffee pours coffee from northern Nicaragua and hot chocolate by the cup with homemade bread, and has a terrace on the street. An Avis desk in the hotel rents cars for day trips to the Isletas, Laguna de Apoyo and Masaya.
